Family First For Kevin Callahan
• RAMP has confirmed that Kevin Callahan is leaving Audacy after a successful 12-year run, opting to depart at the end of his current deal to relocate back east for family reasons. In his most recent capacity as Western Region VP of Programming Callahan was based in San Diego and oversaw the programming of Country outlets KSON/San Diego; KFRG/Riverside; WDAF/Kansas City; KWJJ/Portland, OR; KKWF/Seattle and KMLE/Phoenix.
Callahan notably spent seven years with Pamal Broadcasting in Albany, NY, ultimately rising to Regional VP of Programming before making the major move west to America’s Finest City® in October 2010 as PD of KSON/San Diego (then owned by Lincoln Financial). Under subsequent owner Entercom (now Audacy), Callahan was upped to OM of the company’s San Diego cluster, and in June 2019 annexed bonus PD stripes for Country sibling KFRG (K-Frog 95.1)/Riverside. Two years ago Callahan was elevated to RVP of Country Programming (along with John Foxx) when Entercom “reimagined” the programming structure of its Country and Alternative formats.
Callahan recently sold the family’s San Diego home and relocated back east to Hedges Lake in Cambridge, NY. While his next move is still TBA, Callahan posted this motivational quote to his Facebook page that reads, “Good things come to those who believe, better things come to those who are patient and best things come to those who don’t give up.” Callahan remains with Audacy until 11/16 and can be contacted at KevinCallahan71@gmail.com.
