Family First For Scott Jameson

RAMP has confirmed that Scott Jameson is stepping down as Program Director of Audacy Sports-Talk WJZ-FM (105.7 The Fan)/Baltimore after a year in the chair, citing personal family reasons.

“It was a hard decision, but it was mine,” Jameson tells RAMP. “I was having a blast, but my family dynamic changed, requiring me to step down and return to Detroit. My wife was promoted at her medical practice, and it’s important for me to support her career like she did for me all those years.” Plus, living in two cities was challenging, and commuting back to Detroit became unsustainable.”

On a positive note, Jameson said, “We had a great year transforming The Fan into a video-first, content-rich, contemporary sports brand. So many people to thank — Chris Oliviero, Jeff Sottolano, Dave Richards, and Mike Thomas. Special thanks to Danny Freisinger, my Market Manager, Tracy Brandys, and of course, the terrific talk talent at The Fan.” Jameson has agreed to remain in place through March 20 to help ensure a smooth transition.

Jameson is a 30-year industry pro who arrived in Baltimore in January 2025, following a five-year stint with Beasley, rising to VP of National Content and Detroit Director Of Programming. He previously spent eight years with Cumulus Minneapolis as Corporate VP of Classic Rock Programming and OM/PD of Classic Rock KQRS. Earlier in his career Jameson was Corporate VP of Adult Rock Programming for CBS Radio, PD of Triple A WZGC (92.9 Dave FM)/Atlanta and Executive Producer of the Atlanta Falcons Radio Network. He also notably spent 15 years with Clear Channel Indianapolis as Director of FM Programming for Classic Rock WFBQ and Alternative WRZX.

• Here is the complete text of the staff memo from SVP/Market Manager Tracy Brandys:

Team, I want to share an important update regarding 105.7 THE FAN.

Scott Jameson has decided to step down from his position as Brand Manager for 105.7 THE FAN. Scott joined us one year ago and, during that time, did an outstanding job working with our talent to help transform THE FAN into a contemporary sports brand. His focus on content-rich programming and video strengthened the way our listeners connect with us on air, online, and across digital platforms.

This was a difficult decision for Scott, as he truly loves working with 105.7 THE FAN and our entire team.  However, balancing work in Baltimore while his family remains in Detroit has been challenging, and with his wife’s recent promotion, it became clear that relocating the family to Baltimore would not be possible.

As Scott shared, ‘While this was a difficult decision, I’m incredibly grateful for my time at 105.7 THE FAN.  I will miss working alongside such a talented team and wish the station nothing but continued success. I’ll be rooting for you from afar.’

Scott has agreed to stay on through March 20 to assist with the transition, and we are grateful for his support during this time. I want to personally thank Scott for his many contributions over the past year and the positive impact he has made on the station.

Please join me in wishing Scott and his family continued success and good health. We will be posting the Brand Manager position in the coming days as we begin the search for Scott’s replacement.”
