Fitz & Mahalick Join Seattle’s Bull
• UPDATED: It’s a massively busy day around the Hubbard Radio Seattle radio ranch, as VP/Market Manager Ann Marie Mulholland announced several major personnel moves: 1) the return of Fitz in the Morning to the Seattle airwaves on KNUC (New Country 98.9 FM The Bull), and 2) veteran programmer Scott Mahalick is joining The Bull as Brand/Content Director. Mulholland said, “The Country audience in Seattle has been without their favorite morning show host for too long. I believe the dynamic duo of Fitz, backed by Scott Mahalick will change the face of radio in Seattle.”
Fitz (left) notably hosted Fitz in the Morning for 12 years on Entercom rival KKWF (100.7 The Wolf). Commenting on his new Hubbard deal, an elated Fitz commented, “I’m beyond thrilled to be joining the Hubbard Radio family and look forward to sharing my very best with the Northwest. It’s going to be one heck of a ride!” Fitz’s existing Sun Broadcast Group-syndicated programs — The Hit List with Fitz, The Fitz Show and Nashville Minute — will continue with Hubbard’s full support.
Mahalick (right) was most recently EVP of Programming for Alpha Media, and is relocating from Portland, OR to Seattle. Mahalick is also known for his successful track record in Country radio programming, including Portland, Seattle and San Francisco. Mahalick remarked, “I am truly honored to join the World Class broadcast team at Hubbard Radio. Big thanks to Ann Marie Mulholland, Ginny Morris, Drew Horowitz and Greg Strassell for having such a strong conviction to invest in and support great talent at the local level. Simultaneously, we are thrilled to announce the return of Fitz in the Morning, a major Seattle icon, back on the airwaves of the Great Northwest. The new Fitz show begins airing April 22 @ 98.9 The Bull.”
• The arrival of Fitz and Mahalick displaces PD Lisa Adams, who exits, along with morning co-host Karen “Red” Daiss. Current Bull morning anchor Tim Leary is scheduled to move to afternoon drive, while his co-host Claire Beverly will remain in place and work with the new Fitz show.
• And there’s more — current KNUC midday host Seth Hughes will cross the hall to do mornings on AC sister KRWM (WARM 106.9). The wake-up shift has been vacant since Allan Fee and Ashley Ryan left in December. Ron Harrell, PD of KRWM, commented, “Seth’s style and delivery fit perfectly with WARM 106.9 and our audience. His friendly voice and style will provide a fresh start to listeners’ workdays in the Pacific Northwest.”
• Concurrent with Fitz’s move to The Bull it was announced that he has signed with major talent agency CAA for representation in all areas. The deal was brokered by CAA agent (and radio vet) Michael Bryan.

I’ve known Michael for many years and have always been impressed with his industry instincts. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to create, expand and experiment in the entertainment industry.
