For Chris K, The End Is Nowhere In Sight

• Today, October 5, 2018 marks a very special career milestone for Christopher K, APD/MD and afternoon personality at Entercom Top 40 KUDL (106.5 The End)/Sacramento — this is his 20th anniversary with the station! In July 1998, Entercom flipped the station to Top 40 as KDND (107.9 The End) and ran jockless for a few months. As Mr. K relates to RAMP, “I was one of the three original jocks they hired. My first day in the building was Oct. 5, 1998, and we hit the air on October 7.”

Christopher K did nights for the first four years and was promoted to afternoons in October 2002 — where he has reigned ever since. He’s the only MD The End has ever had, and he added APD stripes in 2016. In February 2017, the station famously adopted the KUDL calls and changed frequency to 106.5.

“I grew up here in NorCal listening to Sacramento Top 40 radio as a kid, so it’s incredible now getting to be on this side of the mic, and getting to do it for so long!” K said. “Working for such a great company and seeing our little radio station grow from being the new kid on the block 20 years ago to the juggernaut it is now — even with a frequency change — has been an immensely rewarding ride. Add in being able to do it all so close to my family has made it even more special. I’ve had the privilege of working with four very smart PDs over the years — Steve Weed, who hired me, followed by Dan Mason, Nikki Nite, and now, Rayne. He and I make a great team and have a lot of fun. As Giants fans, now the goal is to stick around long enough for them to get back to the World Series so we can celebrate together — hopefully that doesn’t take another 20 years!” Feel free to send your best wishes to Christopher K at chrisk@endonline.com.
