Foxx Makes The KUT In Austin
• Veteran programming pro Terry Foxx has joined Austin NPR affiliate KUT 90.5 as Director of Programming and Audience. In his new position Foxx will oversee KUT 90.5’s on-air programming and KUT and KUTX Studios‘ podcast strategy. He will collaborate with the KUT newsroom and Triple A sister KUTX 98.9, the Austin Music Experience, on developing audience-centered engagement strategies and expanding KUT’s reach.
“Terry has deep knowledge and experience when it comes to identifying and expanding audiences,” said Debbie Hiott, GM of KUT and KUTX. “He grew up in Texas, has always had family in Austin, and understands how KUT can serve our community. With those things he will help us develop and provide programming that reaches into new areas important to Central Texas.”
Foxx arrives in Austin from Radio One Charlotte, where he has served as Brand Manager for SportsRadio WFNZ-AM and Hot AC WLNK (Mix 107.9). Prior to his move to Charlotte in June 2020, Foxx was Brand Manager of Entercom Sports-Talk WZGC (92.9 The Game)/Atlanta, which he helped launch in late 2012. Foxx previously launched Sports sister KDKA (93.7 The Fan)/Pittsburgh and programmed ESPN Radio in Bristol, CT. Earlier stops include ABC Radio Networks, KKDA/Dallas, WPLJ/New York and B96/Chicago.
Commenting on his new challenge, Foxx said, “KUT has a rich heritage and is part of the fabric of Central Texas. I look forward to joining the strong team at KUT and engaging new listeners in creative ways.”
