Geoff Calkins Leaving 92.9 ESPN Memphis

• Audacy Sports-Talk simulcast WMFS-FM & AM (92.9 ESPN)/Memphis announced a series of programming updates — effective Jan. 12, The J&J Show with John Martin & Jason Smith will be heard weekdays from 9am-noon, while Jeffrey Wright and Company is extending into a three-hour show and will be on from noon-3pm CT.

And, after 16 years with 92.9 FM ESPN, veteran columnist Geoff Calkins, currently heard from 7-9am, is departing the station to focus on his lead role at the Daily Memphian. Calkins (pictured), a nationally recognized host who helped launch the station and earned numerous industry accolades, will make his final broadcast this Friday, Jan. 9. Calkins posted his news to Facebook. Unsportsmanlike, with Evan, Canty and Michelle, currently airing from 3-6am, will move up into morning drive, weekdays from 6-9am.

The new 92.9 FM ESPN weekday programming lineup looks like this — 6-9am: Unsportsmanlike with Evan, Canty and Michelle • 9am-noon: The J&J Show with John Martin & Jason Smith • Noon-3pm: Jeffrey Wright and Company • 3-6pm: The Gabe Kuhn Show.
