Global Implications For Amazon’s Kammerer, Belote

• Amazon Music has upgraded the roles of Country programming execs Michelle Tigard Kammerer and Emily Cohen Belote, awarding them each Global responsibilities. Kammerer, formerly Head of Country, has been elevated to Global Head of Country Music, while Belote, most recently Principal Music Curator, is now Global Lead, Country Music Programming.

Kammerer (left) currently leads all efforts to continue growing Country music listening on Amazon Music, inclusive of marketing and artist and label relations through new initiatives and collaborations with a wide range of artists. She and her team also oversee one of Country’s most influential brands — Country Heat. Under Kammerer’s leadership, Amazon Music has significantly expanded its Country music footprint through innovative partnerships and initiatives. She was instrumental in the ACM Awards’ streaming deal with Prime Video and also developed the Country Music Month programming.

Kammerer started her career at CAA, later joining Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc. (CRB) as Sr. Director of Brand Marketing & Strategic Partnerships. Kammerer was then recruited to help re-launch the historic Dot Records label under Big Machine Label Group, and in 2017 segued to BMLG Records as Sr. National Director of Marketing & Promotion. In 2021, Kammerer joined Amazon Music as Head of Country Music.

Cohen Belote (right) has been shaping Amazon’s Country music strategy since 2016. Her leadership has been instrumental in developing and overseeing several of Amazon Music’s most successful initiatives, including theCountry Heat playlist. Last year Belote launched the innovative Bonfire playlist that brings together storyteller artists across Country, Indie, and Alternative music, and her work extends to curating specialized playlists like Brushland for Americana and left-of-center Country music, and Neon Stars, which spotlights Country artists who have made significant impacts on both social media and culture. Belote has been crucial in identifying and elevating new talent through initiatives like the “Breakthrough” playlist and Amazon Music’s Artists to Watch program. She serves on the boards of CRS and Americana Association
