Grimm & Odson Higher In The Zone
• NRG Media Sports-Talk KOZN-AM (1620 The Zone)/Omaha is excited to announce two newly created positions “that will take The Zone to a new level of excellence — and the two new leaders who will make this happen.”
In making the big announcement, OM Steve King said, “Please congratulate Nick Grimm and Josh Odson as the new leaders of 1620 The Zone. They will work in tandem to drive The Zone’s growth in video and audio products. Nick will be leading the charge for The Zone’s video products as Video Program Director, and Josh will be leading the station’s on-air improvement and quality control as Audio Program Director. Both Nick and Josh will be backing each other up in all areas of The Zone as a Programming team. We are looking forward to watching and helping them with the growth of 1620 The Zone.”
Grimm (left, in action, producing the College World Series), has been in the building since August 2016, starting as a part-timer while in college and working his way up. He’s been with The Zone fulltime for the past three years, most recently serving as Program Coordinator. When asked about his new role, Grimm told RAMP, “My goal is to shape the video content on The Zone into something truly fun and unique! I believe me growing up with websites like YouTube and Twitch have given me a lot of insight and ideas that we can utilize in the sports-talk space.”
Odson (right) is also a three-year Zone veteran who most recently produced The Connor Happer Show in middays. He earlier spent close to a decade across the street at iHeartMedia’s NewsRadio 1110 KFAB.
King added, “It’s always a great moment when we have people who are already on the team and can be elevated to positions of leadership.”
Grimm can be congratulated at Nick@1620thezone.com, and your good wishes can be sent directly to Odson at JoshO@1620thezone.com.
