Hannah B: Your ’25 MIW Mentee

Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio, Inc. (MIW) is proud to announce Hannah Brummer (a.k.a. Hannah B) as the recipient of the 2025 Elevating Women in Programming Mentorship program.

Now in its seventh year, this year-long mentorship opportunity is designed specifically for women in programming, and exposes the mentee to some of the best programming minds in the business through personalized conversations, connections, and opportunities aimed at advancing their career within the radio industry, including a pass to the 2026 NAB Show in Las Vegas.

Hannah B serves in multiple roles for Alpha Media in suburban Chicago — midday host on Country simulcast WCCQ/Joliet & WXLC/Waukegan (Free Country 98.3 & 102.3), and Asst. Content Director and evening personality on Hot AC duo WZSR (Star 105.5)/Woodstock and WSSR (Star 96.7)/Joliet.

MIW Board Member (and past MIW Programming Mentee) Leslie Scott said, “With women only representing 12% of Program Directors, MIW knows the importance of raising the next generation of women leaders in the programming space. I’m impressed by Hannah’s commitment to leadership and I cannot wait for the world to share in her energy.”

Brummer remarked, “I’m absolutely thrilled and deeply honored to be selected as this year’s recipient of the MIW Elevating Women in Programming Mentorship. This truly feels like a dream come true! I’ve been eager to find new ways to grow both as a programmer and a leader, and this mentorship is the perfect opportunity. I’m so grateful for the chance to learn from and be inspired by such an incredible group of women in our industry!”

In addition to Leslie Scott, former Audacy VP of Digital Audio Content, previous MIW mentees include: Traci LaTrelle, APD/MD, WHUR/Washington, DC; Grisel Barajas, a rising programming star who passed away unexpectedly in 2020; Amanda “ICE” Habrowski, APD/middays, KYMT (93.1 The Mountain)/Las Vegas; Meg Dowdy, Regional Content Director, Townsquare Media, and most recently, Kiran Riar of Flinn Broadcasting Memphis.
