Happy 20th, Radio Disney!

We want to take a moment and congratulate the staff, past and present, of  on reaching a major milestone — Friday, November 18, 2016 marked the brand’s 20th anniversary! In a staff memo, Phil Guerini, VP of Music Strategy for Disney Channels Worldwide and GM of Radio Disney Networks remarked, “Twenty years ago today — November 18, 1996 — and in celebration of Mickey and Minnie Mouse‘s shared birthdays, The Walt Disney Company flipped the switch on our first Radio Disney stations in Atlanta and Minneapolis. Since then, we’ve had our share of achievements, challenges, and yet most importantly, we’ve evolved, grown up, transformed, innovated, and remained resilient throughout this time.”

He continued, “Today we represent a stronger, more dynamic, and globally recognized (thank you Disney Channel), multi-platform music brand with the best chapters still ahead of us. Thank you ALL for being an integral part of this history, for your commitment, passion, partnership, support, and contributions BIG and small. We all have a lot to be proud of. As we blow out the candles on our cake, here’s to many more successful years ahead.”
