Hey Jacksonville! Shannon’s Back!
• Great to see our friend Todd Shannon back in action once again — nearly two years after stepping down as OM of Cox Media Group’s Jacksonville group, we are pleased to report that Shannon has resurfaced across the street at Renda Broadcasting as OM/PD of AC WEJZ and Country WGNE (99.9 Gator Country). He replaces Randy Savage, who transferred back to Renda’s Ft. Myers group in October.
Shannon (pictured here with his lovely wife, Melanie) notably spent a decade with CMG Jacksonville, preceded by a stint with Clear Channel Jacksonville as RVPP and PD of Top 40 WFKS (97.9 Kiss FM). Shannon’s earlier stints with Clear Channel and Jacor include programming stops at WIOQ (Q102)/Philadelphia, KHKS/Dallas, and WNCI/Columbus, OH… oh, and he’s also the guy who launched KHTS (Channel 933)/San Diego on Sept. 1, 1996.
RAMP reached out to Shannon, who remarked, “It’s a great honor to join Renda Broadcasting and these two iconic brands in the town where I grew up, Jacksonville. I look forward to working with [GM] Bill Berry, my friend [VP of Programming] Steve Granato, my new buddy Randy Savage, our Programming Partners and the entire staff. Cheers!” Your best wishes can be sent to Todd at 904-655-2055 or toddshannon@icloud.com.
