iHeart Launches ALT 106.7/Detroit
• iHeartMedia just converted WDTW/Detroit from Classic Rock 106.7 The D to become the latest member of the company’s ALT-branded Alternative outlets — welcome to ALT 106.7, Detroit’s New Alternative Station.
“The city of Detroit is going through a renaissance now — a big comeback,” said Tony Travatto, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Detroit. “This station will be a cool new piece in the renaissance. ALT 106.7 will be the go-to destination for listeners to find the best in Alternative music. We’re committed to helping listeners discover new music and serving as an ambassador for up-and-coming local bands.” ALT 106.7 has launched with 10,000 songs commercial-free and will soon announce a full line-up of local on-air personalities.
