iHeart Tampa’s Frequency Exchange Program

The action begins with Sports-Talk 95.3 WDAE-FM, which receives a serious turbo-boost of power to 100,000 watts as it swaps frequencies with Spanish Contemporary sister WRUB (Rumba 95.7). WDAE will rebrand as 95.7 WDAE (simulcast remains on 620AM), while Rumba transitions to 95.3 and 102.9 (W275AZ), rebranded as Rumba 95.3 & 102.9, “#1 Para Hits De Hoy En Tampa Bay.”
“Expanding WDAE’s heritage brand strengthens our long-standing broadcast and marketing partnerships with the Tampa Bay Rays, Buccaneers, Lightning, Florida Gators and USF Bulls,” said Russell Robertson, Market President of iHeartMedia Tampa Bay. “This evolution also reflects our continued commitment to serving Tampa Bay listeners across multiple platforms.”
Nick Wize, PD 95.7 WDAE, exclaimed, “I am beyond excited for Tampa Bay sports fans. This is a championship market, and we’re delivering a strong, engaging lineup that brings fans closer to the teams and conversations they care about most.”
“Rumba 95.3 and 102.9 will continue to deliver a vibrant, high-energy music mix tailored to Tampa Bay’s Latino community,” said P.J. Gonzalez, SVP of Programming for iHeartLatino. “With Enrique Santos anchoring mornings, along with standout local talent including Sarykarmen Rivera and Flip Rios, Rumba offers engaging entertainment throughout the day for Spanish-speaking listeners.”
Robertson added, “This move reflects our continued commitment to deliver programming that connects with listeners across the community.”
