iHeart-Warming Homecoming For Bill Stewart
• RAMP has confirmed that Bill “Stu” Stewart is making his triumphant return to iHeartMedia, this time as the newly named Senior Vice President of Programming for the company’s seven-station group in Spokane, WA.
Stewart reports to Jeff Hurley, EVP of iHeart’s National Programming Group, who commented, “I’m thrilled to welcome Bill ‘Stu’ Stewart as the new Senior Vice President of Programming for Spokane. His wealth of experience and innovative vision will undoubtedly strengthen our team and elevate our programming to new heights.” Hurley then handed the mic over to Area President Steve Darnell, who noted, “I’m fired up that Bill is joining iHeartMedia in Spokane as our programming leader. Bill has a great positive energy, is a proven programming winner and will be a great collaborator with our sales team to provide exciting marketing opportunities for our valued clients.”
This new SVPP opportunity and return to iHeart means a rapid reset for Stewart, who in June was named Director of Content for Townsquare’s Billings, MT radio group. Stewart enjoys a lengthy history with Clear Channel/iHeartMedia, based in Anchorage, Alaska from July 1993 to June 2021 — from 1993 to 2015 he was PD/morning co-host at Top 40 101.3 KGOT, and from 2015 to late 2021 was PD/morning co-host at KASH (KASH Country 107.5). Stu has also worked at KZZP/Phoenix, the late WINX/Washington, DC and KOKU/Guam.
“I am humbled to return to the iHeartMedia team as SVP of Programming for our Spokane market,” Stewart said. “Huge thanks to Steve and Jeff for trusting me to grow the brands and revenues and allowing me to be part of this amazing team.”
