Jim Murphy Ready To Wrap It Up

• Sending our best wishes to Jim Murphy, VP of Programming & Operations at Amaturo Sonoma Media Group in Santa Rosa, CA, who has announced his impending retirement. His last day in the office will be Monday, February 2.

“My 75th birthday is right around the corner,” said Murphy. “I will have been in radio for nearly 53 years — more than a quarter of those, nearly 15 years, right here with the Santa Rosa cluster! Sonoma County has become home to me and my family. I’m ready and excited for what’s ahead, but I know I will miss working with these people and these stations.”

Murphy’s five-decade radio career includes earlier programming roles at WSLQ & WFIR/Roanoke, VA; WHJY, WHJJ & WHIM/Providence, WHDH/Boston, WQFM/Milwaukee and KEZR & KBAY/San Jose-San Francisco.

After Feb. 2, Murphy’s friends and colleagues can stay in touch at jmurphy9347@gmail.com.
