Johnny Lee Walker… & All That Jazz

• Johnny Lee Walker has been elevated to Station Manager of Jazz-formatted KBEM (Jazz88.FM)/Minneapolis.

Walker, who had been serving as Interim Station Manager for the past year, brings a wealth of experience in radio management, a passion for music, as well as an aptitude for raising money, as evidenced by a recent successful fundraising campaign to combat budget cuts this past year.

Walker gained valuable early experience working for RP Broadcasting and Hubbard Broadcasting in Bemidji, MN, followed by a stint with Cumulus Media in Minneapolis, working with KQRS and KXXR (93X).

In August 2020, Walker took a pivotal step in his career by joining Minneapolis Public Schools as a Development Specialist for KBEM Radio. His dedication and leadership potential were quickly recognized, leading to his appointment as Interim Station Manager in May 2024. During that time he oversaw a move of the radio studios and an upgrade to new radio software.
