Johnny O: Free Agent
• RAMP has confirmed that Johnny O has exited as PD and morning personality at iHeartMedia Rhythmic KBFM (Wild 104)/McAllen-Brownsville, TX after a 17-year run — 15 years at No. 1. For now, we expect Wild 104 MD/afternoon talent Jay Z to absorb programming responsibilities and move up to morning drive, reporting to longtime SVP of Programming Billy Santiago.
Johnny O is a 35-year industry veteran, all of it spent in Texas — earlier in his career he worked for KKPS/McAllen-Brownsville, KZFM and the former Club 98/Corpus Christi, and KQQK and KMJQ/Houston.
