JR Schumann Leaving SiriusXM
• JR Schumann announced he’s leaving his position as SiriusXM Sr. Director of Country Programming, effective July 15, and intends to pursue some new avenues of opportunity. In a statement, Schumann said, “After almost seven years, I’ve decided to leave SiriusXM and pursue other opportunities and adventures. I’m beyond proud of everything my team and I have accomplished and wish everyone at SiriusXM nothing but continued success.”
Schumann originally joined SiriusXM in December 2015, coming from the OM/PD post at Cumulus Country duo KSCS and KPLX (99.5 The Wolf)/Dallas. Schumann previously programmed Cox Media Country WWKA (K92.3)/Orlando and was APD/MD of CMG Country WZZK/Birmingham, AL.
In the interim, VP of Programming Darrin Smith will oversee the SiriusXM Country channels.
