• Max Media of Hampton Roads makes it official, and formally promotes market veteran Karen West to Program Director of heritage Country station, WGH-FM (97.3 The Eagle)/Norfolk. With three decades of experience at The Eagle, and already serving as APD/MD, West, who also co-hosts the Eagle morning show with Steve Waters, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to her new role.
Operations Manager Jay West said, “The name Karen West is synonymous in Hampton Roads with Country music, and I’m extremely excited to elevate someone of her caliber into this role. Her unmatched longevity in the format makes her the perfect fit. This promotion is well-earned and well-deserved.”
“I’m incredibly honored to step into this new role at The Eagle,” said West (pictured here with Country star Ernest). “For over 30 years, this station has been my home, and I’m excited to build on its legacy of delivering great Country music, supporting our community, and connecting with our loyal listeners in Hampton Roads. Here’s to continuing this amazing journey together.”
Beyond her extensive radio resume, West is also deeply committed to various charitable causes, including the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign. Her involvement in community outreach further exemplifies her passion for making a positive impact both on and off the air.
