KELO-FM’s Xmas Relocation Strategy

• It’s about to get busy today at Midwest Communications’ Hot AC 101.9 KELO-FM/Sioux Falls, SD — not only is the station about to make its popular annual flip to holiday music mode, but it will be doing it on a new frequency.

Starting today, concurrent with its transition to Christmas mode, the KELO-FM calls will move from 101.9 to 95.7, the current home of AC sister KQSF. KELO-FM’s Hot AC format will move to 101.9, pick up the KQSF calls and rebrand as Q101.9. The day after Christmas, the newly relocated KELO-FM will return to its popular AC format on 95-7. Got all that?

Long-time Sioux Falls broadcaster and “America’s Storyteller,” Jeff Gould, is also making the move to the new frequency, bringing his popular holiday show A Prairie Christmas, airing daily from 1-3pm starting the day after Thanksgiving. The show combines holiday music with inspirational and nostalgic stories.

Listeners can enjoy 95-7 KELO-FM’s holiday music 24/7 online at kelofm.com or on the free KELO-FM app. The day after Christmas, KELO-FM will return to its regular AC format on 95-7.
