Kurtis Cuts Kind Of Big Deal
The distinctively dulcet tones of Bill Kurtis, legendary longtime Chicago news anchor, television documentarian, the awesome narrator of Anchorman and the longtime announcer on one of our favorite radio shows, NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! has been perfectly cast as the new signature voice on Tribune News-Talk WGN-AM/Chicago. Kurtis’ beautifully mellifluous voice will be integrated into all WGN promos and IDs beginning in January.
“Bill is perfect for WGN Radio,” said Chris Duffy, WGN Creative Service Manager. “His body of work represents thoughtful honesty, yet he has never been afraid to do lighthearted and fun projects. That combination plus his impeccable Chicago credibility make him a natural fit as a signature voice for WGN. Bill Kurtis IS… kind of a big deal.”
Todd Manley, WGN VP of Programming and Content commented, “Chris Duffy’s brilliant imaging is the sonic soul of WGN Radio, and adding Bill’s voice is the icing on the cake.”
