KYW/Philly Names News Director
• Entercom has promoted Kristina Hammerschmidt to News Director of KYW-AM (Newsradio 1060)/Philadelphia, effective November 19. In this new role, Hammerschmidt will oversee the 24-hour multi-platform newsroom at Philadelphia’s iconic all-news station.
In making the announcement, David Yadgaroff, SVP/Market Manager of Entercom Philadelphia said, “Kristina is a talented and dynamic leader with expertise that will take the KYW Newsradio team to… the next level™. Her strong track record producing live newscasts will help us deliver on our mission of telling compelling stories and setting the agenda for news coverage in the Delaware Valley.”
Hammerschmidt is a Philadelphia native who joined KYW in 2017 as an editor and writer. She previously served as a producer and writer for KYW-TV/Philadelphia, WFMZ-TV/Allentown, PA and WBOC-TV/Salisbury, MD. Hammerschmidt holds a B.A. in Journalism from Temple University.
