Laird Named OM Of WEEI/Boston

• Changes in the programming department at Audacy Sports-Talk WEEI/Boston, as RAMP confirms that Brand Manager Jeff Rickard has exited after less than six months on the job and is returning to Indiana for family reasons. Asst. Brand Manager Ken Laird (pictured) has been upped to Operations Manager of the station and will step down from his current role as Executive Producer & Update Anchor for The Greg Hill Show.

In a staff memo obtained by RAMP, Market Manager Mike Thomas thanked Rickard, noting, “Jeff is returning to Indianapolis to be with his family and pursue other opportunities. We wish him nothing but the best and appreciate what he did as Brand Manager of WEEI. A new Brand Manager will be named in the future.” Prior to joining WEEI last August, Rickard was PD/morning host at Emmis Sports-Talk WFNI (93.5 & 107.5 The Fan)/Indianapolis.

Thomas says one of Laird’s first projects is to find his replacement on The Greg Hill Show. Thomas added, “We are equally excited to announce that Chris Curtis will remain as Executive Producer for The Greg Hill Show, while also assisting with additional duties in the programming department.” [Laird photo from Twitter]
