Lance Houston On The Loose
• As part of this new round of iHeartMedia layoffs, RAMP has learned that Lance Houston has exited his position as PD of WBWL (101.7 The Bull)/Boston and his duties with the National Programming Group.
This had been Houston’s second stint as PD of Boston’s Bull, this time working remotely from Atlanta. Houston was named the inaugural PD of Bull shortly after it launched in 2014. He also programmed sister WTBU (95.3 The Bull)/Portsmouth, NH and had served as Country Format Captain for the Boston Region until April 2018, when he earned the transfer to the PD post at then Country cousin WEBG (Big 95.5)/Chicago. That gig lasted until September 2020, when the station flipped to WCHI (Rock 95.5).
In late 2020 Houston relocated back to Atlanta, where earlier in his career he had spent six years as APD/afternoon personality at iHeart’s WUBL (94.9 The Bull). He was named PD of WBWL again last August. Houston began his Country radio career at Clear Channel’s WTXT/Tuscaloosa, AL in 1995. His earlier PD stops include WPOC/Baltimore, WBAM/Montgomery, AL and WYGC/Gainesville, FL. Houston can be reached at LBurage@gmail.com.
