Leigh Joins WQDR As APD/MD/Middays
• Curtis Media Group Country WQDR (94.7 QDR)/Raleigh has filled its APD/MD/midday vacancy with the hire of format veteran Abby Leigh, effective Aug. 21. Leigh makes the big move from the PD/afternoon post at Guaranty Media Country WTGE (100.7 The Tiger)/Baton Rouge, LA, and succeeds Heather Davis, who left back in April.
“We are excited to welcome Abby to our team,” said WQDR PD Mike Biddle. “Abby has a tremendous amount of talent and a desire to grow both on-air and as a programmer. She’s a great fit for our team and will play a vital role in the success of QDR.”
David Stuckey, GM of 94.7 QDR, commented, “We’re excited to add someone with Abby’s skills and know-how to our team. I can’t wait to see the impact that Abby has on our station and in our community.”
“I’m so excited for the opportunity to join forces with a heritage radio station like QDR!” said Leigh. “I can’t wait to learn about a new market, to grow as a radio personality and programmer, and to explore a new area. Thank you to Curtis Media for bringing me aboard!”
Leigh joined The Tiger in February 2019, coming from Cumulus Country KXKC/Lafayette, LA, where she was afternoon talent & Programming Asst. She was promoted to PD in March 2022.
