LMN Launches Puro Tejano 1530/McAllen

• Latino Media Network (LMN) announces the launch of KYWW (Puro Tejano 1530 AM)/Harlingen-McAllen, TX, a new Tejano music radio station serving the Rio Grande Valley, from South Padre Island to Starr County.

The former KGBT was part of a package of 18 radio stations in 10 markets spun off by Univision to LMN in late 2022.

“KYWW Puro Tejano 1530 AM is more than a station — it’s a revival of the Valley’s deep-rooted Tejano music culture,” said Vicky Guerrero, newly named Texas Regional GM. “We’re proud to bring the community a station that reflects their heritage, celebrates their music, and connects listeners across generations with the authentic Tejano sound they love.”

KYWW Puro Tejano 1530 AM brings back the powerful sounds of classic Tejano legends like Selena, Emilio Navaira, La Mafia, and Mazz, while also elevating rising stars such as Siggno, Solido, and Grupo Frontera.

With its powerful 50kw daytime signal (10kw at night), KYWW Puro Tejano 1530 AM reaches thousands across the Valley, tapping into a potential audience of over 1 million Hispanics, reinforcing LMN’s presence in one of the most culturally significant markets in Texas.
