Lori Bennett Named PD, U-93/South Bend
• Sound Management has acquired the talents of major market veteran Lori Bennett as the newly named Program Director of heritage Top 40 WNDV (U-93)/South Bend, IN.
Bennett joins WNDV after a seven-year run with Cumulus Media West Michigan, where she was Operations and Marketing Manager for the Grand Rapids and Muskegon markets and PD of WHTS (105.3 Hot FM), Triple A WKLQ (Q94.5) and Country WTNR (Thunder 107.3)/Grand Rapids.
A Michigan native, Bennett is well known for her lengthy Detroit radio resume, most recently as PD of Cumulus Hot AC WDVD/Detroit until July 2016. Prior to joining Cumulus Detroit in 2011 Bennett was Promotions Director of Talk sibling WJR-AM. Her previous Motor City stops include WNIC, WMGC and WVMV, where she served in a variety of roles, including OM, PD, Marketing Director and morning host.
Arthur Angotti III, President of Sound Management, said, “We are lucky to announce the addition of Lori Bennett to the South Bend Community and to the U-93 Broadcast team! Lori comes to the market with an abundance of experience and enthusiasm that will help our stations serve the listeners of South Bend and the surrounding areas. We are excited to get her into the market and on the air and look forward to integrating her into our broadcast team and into the community.” U-93 GM Pam Mason, noted, “We are thrilled to welcome Lori to our team. With her exceptional leadership qualities and extensive background in the radio industry, we are confident that she will play a pivotal role in propelling our stations forward and leading us to new heights of success.”
Bennett remarked, “It’s an absolute honor to be asked to take the proverbial reins of a legendary CHR station like U-93! With the station heading into its 45th anniversary of entertaining and serving the Michiana community, plus its rich history of incredible on-air talent, I could not be more excited to join Arthur and Pam’s team. While it’s not a stretch for me with my family background, especially in the glow of the Notre Dame dome to reclaim myself as a true member of the ‘Fighting Irish,’ I’m relying on my new colleagues to help me properly pronounce ‘Hoosiers’ without giving away my borderline Canadian accent.”
