Manchester Is Live Free Country
• Saga’s Manchester Radio Group in Manchester, NH last Friday flipped WMLL (96.5 The Mill) from Classic Rock to Country as 96.5 Live Free Country under the command of market veteran Michael Czarnecki, who joins as Brand Manager.
Market President, Lucy Lange said, “Country music is the hottest genre of music today. There is a clear market desire, and we are excited to fill the void of country music in Southern New Hampshire; Live Free Country will deliver New Hampshire’s continuous Country favorites!”
The Manchester move marks a radio homecoming for Czarnecki, whose career started back in 2001 at WGIR (Rock 101). Czarnecki most recently worked for Binnie Media as Director of Brand Operations, and his major market resume includes PD stints at iHeartMedia News-Talk WONK-FM (WWDC-HD2)/Washington, DC and WRKO/Boston. Czarnecki earlier worked for iHeartMedia Springfield, MA as PD of Country WRNX (Kix 100.9) and APD of Top 40 WHYN-FM (Mix 93.1) & News-Talk WHYN-AM. Czarnecki earlier worked for WKSS (Kiss 95.7)/Hartford, and in Boston at the late WFNX, WODS (103.3 AMP Radio), WXKS (Kiss 108), WJMN (Jam’n 94.5) and WBMX (Mix 104.1).
Czarnecki said, “I am thrilled to be joining the incredible team at Manchester Radio Group. I could not be more excited to be a part of bringing Country music to Southern New Hampshire. A sincere Thank you to Lucy Lange and [OM] Pat McKay.”
Live Free Country is currently rolling through 5,000 songs in a row, and 100% of its soon-to-be-announced on-air staff will be live and local in New Hampshire.
