Mason Dixon Has Bigger Plans

• During Beasley’s recent round of companywide layoffs, one of the more surprising names on the list was Mason Dixon, 40-plus-year Tampa Bay market legend and a 30-year veteran of Beasley Classic Hits WRBQ (Q105).

RAMP caught up with Dixon, who clarified that, while he is no longer a full-time Beasley employee, he continues to voice Q105 commercial endorsements and will continue to do personal appearances and represent Q105 at various events. Against that backdrop, Dixon is working on a plan (with consultant Dom Theodore) to expand the footprint of his Mason Dixon Generation ’80s online station and scale it up to a four-hour syndicated show to be made available to Classic Hits stations nationwide – with Q105 as its flagship. Stay tuned as this project gains momentum.

In the meantime, Mason Dixon Generation ’80s is available to stream on TuneIn, OnlineRadiobox.com and other streaming services. He’s also working on a Mason Dixon podcast which will cover his amazing five-decade radio career.
