Meanest Leap O’ The Week
• Beasley Media Group Detroit makes it official and announces “Mean Jean” Fremont as the new APD and morning co-host at Classic Hip Hop WMGC (105.1 The BOUNCE), joining Shannon Renee on The Morning BOUNCE, starting Oct. 17.
Fremont is headed north from scenic Knoxville, TN, where he was most recently Program Director and pm driver at SummitMedia Rhythmic WKHT (Hot 104.5).
“Jean impressed us with his abilities on and off the air,” said Scott Jameson, Beasley VP of National Content and Director of Detroit Programming. “He truly understands the dynamics of our business, and his experience in the format will help The BOUNCE continue to grow.”
Mac Edwards, VP/Market Manager of Beasley Detroit said, “Mean Jean got our attention the first time we heard his engaging show. He definitely jumped to the top of the list after getting to know him and hearing his insight and appreciation for The BOUNCE’s Party/Throwback format. We’re excited to have Mean Jean join Shannon Renee on The Morning BOUNCE and make his mark as APD with Beasley Media in the Motor City!”
This had been Fremont’s second tour of duty with WKHT — he worked there under a previous owner until 2018, followed by an on-air stint with former CMG Top 40 WPYO (Power 95.3)/Orlando, before returning to WKHT in Nov. 2019. “I am humbled and honored to be chosen to join The Morning BOUNCE,” said Fremont. “I have admired Beasley Media from afar for quite some time, and excited to join an amazing team in Detroit. Thank you to the Leadership team for this amazing opportunity to grow, learn and WIN!”
