Mega-Expansion On Tap For Bret’s Show
That upgrade will begin with the show’s move up from afternoons to mornings on Hot AC sibling KZPT (99.7 The Point)/Kansas City, effective Monday, June 16. Mega’s show has been airing in afternoon drive on KZPT since February 2024, and the move up to mornings will formally cover the departure of popular KC market veterans Ponch & Nikki, who exited during Audacy’s largescale March layoffs.
Mega arrived in the Gateway City in April 2021, joining Y98 as morning co-host alongside Y98 midday personality Julie Tristan to create The Wake Up With Bret & Julie. That pairing lasted until August 2023, when Tristan crossed the hall to anchor her own morning show on AC sister 102.5 KEZK. Cluster vet Hannah Gibbs was officially added to the cast in Sept. 23, alongside Mega and Executive Producer Kevin Berghoff. Rounding out the Bret Mega Show crew is Anna Bohlmann.
Mega’s earlier career includes stops at KZDB/Spokane, WA, KWNW (Kiss FM)/Memphis, WWPW (Power 96.1)/Atlanta, and mornings at former Cumulus Top 40 KLIF-FM (Hot 93.3)/Dallas.
The Bret Mega Show also airs weekdays from noon-4pm on AC sister KFBZ (105.3 The Buzz)/Wichita, KS… with many more affiliates on the way, judging by all of those map pins spilled during that Instagram tease…
