Mendte Named News Director/Anchor, WOR/NYC
• iHeartMedia’s 710 WOR/New York has acquired the talents of award winning news anchor Larry Mendte, a 40-year broadcast journalism pro, as WOR’s News Director and anchor for Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning and The Mark Simone Show, weekdays from 10am-noon ET.
A recipient of 97 Emmy Awards and several Murrow Awards, Mendte joins WOR from New Jersey’s MeTV (WJLP) where he most recently served as News Director and host. Over the course of his four-decade broadcasting career, Mendte was the original co-host of the syndicated Access Hollywood, hosted a morning talk show at WWIQ-FM/Philadelphia, was a news anchor at CBS 3 and NBC 10/Philadelphia, a talk host at 77 WABC/New York, an anchor/reporter at WABC-TV/New York, an opinion commentator at WPIX-TV/New York and a news anchor at WBBM-TV/Chicago.
