The Ohio Programming Dept.
• Congrats are in order for Ms. Meaghan Mick, who has been promoted to PD of iHeartMedia Country WCKY/Toledo, OH. She succeeds Jay Harris, who exited on Tuesday. In a staff memo, Toledo SVP of Programming Scott Sands said, “Meaghan has been part of the iHeartMedia Toledo team since 2010 as an intern. She was quickly hired to be part of the 92.5 Kiss FM morning show in 2011, added the midday show on WCKY in 2013, and then expanded to host middays on [Country sibling WBCT] B93/Grand Rapids, MI last year.
In addition to her new PD duties, Ms. Mick will continue as a local member of the syndicated Mojo in the Morning Show, do the afternoon show on WCKY and keeping doing middays on B93/Grand Rapids. Invoking one of our favorite movies, Sands ended his memo by congratulating Meaghan, adding, “Good luck, we’re all counting on you.”
• New stripes fit nice at WWCD Ltd. Alternative WWCD (CD1025)/Columbus, OH, as midday personality Rachael Gordon is promoted to APD and evening talent Tom Butler adds MD responsibilities. Both of these folks have been with the station for over 10 years.
PD Mase Brazelle commented, “Rachael and Tom have both been such a huge help to me since I took over the PD position here at the station a month or so ago. I’ve known Tom for years, having met him at SXSW, and he is a new music sponge… not to mention knowing everything there is to know about the local scene. As for Rachael, she’s a stickler for detail and an all-around calming presence here at the station. She will continue to be a huge help to me so I don’t forget to dot my i’s and cross my t’s.”
WWCD owner Randy Malloy said, “Rachel and Tom are an integral part of the radio station, and as we move into the New Year we wanted to recognize their longtime contribution to the programming department.”
