Mijo Elevated At Power 96/Miami
• Entercom Rhythmic WPOW (Power 96)/Miami has promoted MD/night jock Miguel “Mijo” Irizarry to interim PD. As we previously reported, the Power 96 Programming Department has been noticeably depleted since the April departure of PD Rob Morris and the more recent exit of APD/MD/Imaging Director Will Calder, who was just named Director of Branding and Programming for Cox Media Group Top 40 WPYO (Power 95.3)/Orlando.
Keriann Worley, SVP/Market Manager of Entercom Miami announced the news in a staff memo, obtained by RAMP, which read, “Please be advised that I have asked Mijo Irizarry to be the interim PD for Power 96. I’ve been extremely impressed with Mijo’s leadership skills and dedication to this station. Moving forward, please see Mijo with all things related to programming on Power 96.”
Irizarry joined Power 96 as night jock in August 2017, making the neck-snapping transition from Mainestream Media Rhythmic WHTP (Hot 104.7)/Portland, ME, where he served in the multiple roles of MD, afternoon jock, Imaging Director and Mix Show Coordinator.
