Moon Rises Again Over SLC
Cumulus Media has appointed Travis Moon as the new PD of KUBL (K-Bull 93)/Salt Lake City. He succeeds Shawn Stevens, who recently left. This move marks a full-circle return to KUBL for Moon, who earlier in his career was APD/MD and afternoon personality for K-Bull.
Moon (left) was most recently Director of Country Operations for iHeartMedia’s Austin & San Antonio Region, overseeing KASE & KVET/Austin and KAJA (KJ97) & KRPT (92.5/93.3 The Bull)/San Antonio until May of this year. He had returned to iHeartMedia in February 2016 after a two-year stint as the Sr. Liaison for Radio Development at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Prior to that, Moon programmed KAJA & KRPT/San Antonio from 2009-2014. His earlier programming stints include WUBE and WYGY/Cincinnati and he spent 11 years as APD/MD of KEEY/Minneapolis.
Pat Reedy, VP/Market Manager of Cumulus Media Salt Lake City, said, “To have someone of Travis’ experience, knowledge and track record of programming winning country radio stations is very exciting. We can’t wait to get him in the K-Bull stable and let him work his magic.” OM Chris Hoffman commented, “Travis’ vision for the station and his history with the K-Bull brand — that’s a winning combination!” Moon said, “I want to thank Cumulus Media for the tremendous opportunity for me and my family to return to Salt Lake City. I was so proud to be part of the original launch of K-Bull 93 and it’s extra special to come back and help lead one of the most awesome Country stations in America to new success. I can’t wait to get started and work with Market Manager Pat Reedy, Operations Manager Chris Hoffman, and the amazing Bull crew. Horns Up!”
