More Cumulus Cuts Revealed
• RAMP has learned of several more Cumulus cuts, starting with Daniel Merry, who exits as evening personality on Alternative WZRH (ALT 92.3)/New Orleans.
Merry took to social media on Tuesday to let everyone know he was out, saying, in part, “DEFINITELY not the post I wanted to make, but here we are… I was unfortunately let go from ALT 92.3. No tears over here! That’s just showbiz, baby!”
He added, “I have nothing but love for Cumulus Media and there’s no bad blood whatsoever. I’d LOVE for you to still support them and not treat them unfairly. This was a corporate decision which is well out of their control. So, no negative comments or messages please! The people that will see those messages are good friends of mine who had nothing to do with this.”
• And as first reported by Country Aircheck, Buck Stevens has exited as APD/MD and afternoon talent at Cumulus Country WBWN (B104)/Bloomington, IL after more than a quarter-century of service.
Stevens shared the news of his unscheduled departure in a Facebook post that reads, in part, “After more than 26 years of loyalty and serving this community on B104, I was told today that Cumulus Media has eliminated my position.” He added, “To all those who have spent their days listening to me, you will never know how truly grateful I am. To all those that I have called my work family over the years, I am honored for the time spent working with you. To all the businesses I have worked with through the years I wish you continued success.” Stevens can now be contacted at djbuckstevens@hotmail.com.
