Morgantown Bracing For Chaos
• Our old pal Chris Chaos is packing for a move from Florida to Morgantown, WV, hired by AJG Radio Corporation as Corporate PD of Active Rock WCLG, Country WFGM (93.1 The River) and AC Morgan 92.1 (WCLG-AM/W221DR). He will also do mornings on WCLG, starting in a few weeks.
Chaos (pictured) will head north from Daytona Beach, FL, where he was most recently PD/afternoons at Southern Stone Communications’ WHOG (95.7 The Hog). Before that he programmed JVC Media Mainstream Rock WBGF (93.5 The Bar)/West Palm Beach and Classic Hits WXJZ (WOW 100.9)/Gainesville-Ocala, FL.
“I’m leaving the sharks and hurricanes for lakes, mountains, football and a craft beer university town,” Chaos tells RAMP. “This is a great opportunity.” RAMP also reached out to Rob Henline, VP/GM of AJC Corporation, who told us, “We are very excited to bring Chris Chaos to Morgantown, WV to join the AJG Radio family. Chris brings high energy and incredible talent to a very competitive market. I believe mornings are going to become very fun, entertaining, and ‘Chaotic.'”
Chaos notably spent eight years in the Columbus, GA market as PD of PMB Broadcasting Classic Rock WRCG and as well as Active Rock WKCN HD-2 (106.9 Rocks) — where he continues to track afternoon drive after a decade. Before that he programmed crosstown rival WVRK (Rock 103). Earlier programming stops include WARO/Ft. Myers, FL and WQSM/Fayetteville, NC. His four-decade radio career also includes stops in Providence, Tampa, Memphis and Portland.
• Chaos, a Rhode Island native, is also an Associate Producer of the forthcoming film The Guest List, which examines the horrific Feb. 20, 2003 Station nightclub fire in W. Warwick, RI that killed 100 people, injured dozens more and affected countless lives forever.
