Moving Day At iHeart Miami
• The sounds of boxes being taped up and chairs scraping across the floor emanate through the iHeartMedia broadcast complex in sunny Miami, as the company announced a bunch of personnel moves that all happen within the space of five minutes.
The action starts at Top 40 WHYI (Y100), where Drew Heyman has been elevated to Music Director and afternoon drive personality. Heyman (left) started as a weekender at Y100 and was elevated to full-time late nights in Oct. 2015. More recently he had been covering the Y100 afternoon shift since Mack slid across the hall to AC WMIA (93.9 MIA) to host Mack in the Morning with Letty B in April. “Growing up in South Florida and listening to Y100 has prepared me for the biggest role of my life,” said Heyman. “Miami is my hometown and I can’t wait to help grow the programming team at Y100!”
And there’s more — Brooke Morrison (second from left), who did afternoon drive for the past four years on Top 40 sister WHQC (Hits 96.1)/Charlotte is awarded a transfer to middays on Y100. She succeeds Michelle Fay (second from right), who segues into afternoon drive over on WMIA. Ms. Fay will continue to co-host the morning show with Frankie P on WLDI (WiLD 95.5)/West Palm Beach. And finally, Y100 welcomes its newest family member, Imari Mora for late nights and weekends. Mora (right) arrives from Emmis Austin, where she was most recently morning show producer for Alternative KROX (101X).
Proudly surveying this newly enhanced line-up, Y100 PD Taylor Jukes commented, “We’re thrilled to bring such enthusiastic, hard-working, digitally-savvy individuals together to grow Y100 for the future. There’s nothing more exciting than building a fun, innovative team to provide our Miami listeners with an entertaining new lineup.”
