Moving Day At WCBS-FM/New York
The schedule changes start bright and ungodly early, as Brand Manager John Foxx unplugs from the morning show and moves to afternoons, making way for longtime midday talent Race Taylor to take command of morning drive. Wait, there’s more: MD Jesse Addy moves from afternoons to replace Taylor in middays. Pictured, (l-r): Foxx, Taylor, & Addy
Taylor has been with WCBS-FM since July 2019, coming off a two-decade run at the late WPLJ where he presided over the station’s sign-off on May 31 of that year. Earlier in his career Taylor worked at KDMX (Mix 102.9)/Dallas and WKRQ (Q102)/Cincinnati.
“Huge thanks to Chris Oliviero, Jeff Sottolano, John Foxx and Jim Ryan,” Taylor said. “I’m grateful for this opportunity and hope to build upon the momentum that John and his team have already established in morning drive. I’m well aware of the legendary talent who’ve previously occupied this daypart in New York City. They are the very foundation of the WCBS-FM legacy and brand. I hope to perform to their level of entertainment and excellence for years to come.”
Addy famously did afternoon drive at now former Audacy Country WNSH (for PD John Foxx) from 2013 until October 2021, when the station flipped to Classic Hip Hop WXBK (94.7 The Block). After a stint doing part-time at WNEW and WCBS-FM, Addy was elevated to afternoons/MD in January 2024.
“The city that shapes world economics, entertainment, pop culture and fashion every workday also never stops listening to WCBS-FM,” said Addy. “I’ve heard the station in skyscrapers, cabs, bodegas, souvenir shops, diners and construction sites. It’s the soundtrack of New York. Thanks to John Foxx, Chris Oliviero, Jeff Sottolano and Jim Ryan for their continued support.”
