Moving Day For ESPN Peoria

• Advanced Media Partners Sports-Talk WZPN (96.5 ESPN Peoria) in scenic Peoria, IL yesterday began the process of permanently moving its programming up the dial to its new home at 101.1 WHPI, licensed to nearby Glasford, IL, which had been the home of Jack FM for the past seven years. The company says the move allows for better coverage of Peoria and the nearby communities to the East and North.

“The demand for sports is greater than ever and being able to provide unparalleled information, opinion, insight, and play-by-play makes this a home run!” explains GM Michael Rea. “Sports are an integral part of life for so many.  We are excited to be able to better provide that content on a signal that has great penetration and an expanded coverage area.”

For now, ESPN Peoria will continue to simulcast on 96.5 and 101.1 until a new format is announced for 96.5. We are told that the WZPN calls will also be transferred up to 101.1.
