New Adventures Await Cat Thomas

• RAMP has confirmed that Cat Thomas has resigned as OM of Beasley’s Las Vegas cluster and PD of Urban AC KOAS (Jammin’ 105.7), effective March 9, to pursue a lucrative business opportunity away from radio — details are forthcoming. Thomas (left) will continue to consult KOAS.

Thomas, a longtime Vegas resident, was named to the position with Beasley in Nov. 2020, coming off of a stint as OM/PD of Entercom’s KNOU (Now 96.3), KYKY (Y98) and 102.5 KEZK/St. Louis. Thomas notably spent 28 years with CBS Radio/Entercom Las Vegas, rising to VP of Programming for the cluster and PD of KLUC/Las Vegas for 20 years. He later spent two years with Cumulus Media as VP of Contemporary Formats until Oct. 2018. Two months later he joined Entercom St. Louis.

“I honestly thought I’d be finishing up my career at Beasley Las Vegas,” Thomas told RAMP. “The people and the stations are very special. It’s just an amazing place to work. If I hadn’t gotten an offer outside the business that could change our family’s lives, I would have stayed at KOAS forever.” Thomas will share more details about his new venture soon.

• With Cat preparing to make his exit, Beasley is now actively searching for a worthy successor to take the programming reins of KOAS (Jammin’ 105.7). This candidate must be well-organized, strong-willed, and an independent thinker with the ability to work in a fast-paced and creative environment for the cluster. Operations Manager stripes could be included in the responsibilities if the right person with the right experience presents itself. Successful PPM experience in this format is a must.

Qualified candidates may submit resumes in confidentiality to Thomas at cat.thomas@bbgi.com or VP/Market Manager Peter Burton at Peter.Burton@bbgi.com. Beasley Media Group, LLC Is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
