New Year Brings ‘The Rick Burgess Show’

• It was nearly a year ago when Rick Burgess and Bill “Bubba” Bussey, hosts of the syndicated Rick & Bubba Show surprised their legions of longtime listeners and 60+ Westwood One affiliates by announcing they would wrap up their 30-year run at the end of 2024.

With Bill Bussey’s departure from the team (and a period in “Best Of” mode), the next generation of the show launched on Monday, Jan. 6 — The Rick Burgess Show is now rolling on SummitMedia Country flagship 104.7 WZZK/Birmingham, AL, anchored by Burgess, alongside co-hosts Greg, Speedy and Adler.

 Mike “Sandman” Sanders, Program Director of WZZK, remarked, “We are super excited to have these guys in the building every day and are planning for an amazing year.”
