Nick Cattles Is Headed Home
• RAMP has confirmed that Nick Cattles is leaving his post as co-host of the Cattles & Ramie afternoon show on Bonneville Sports-Talk KHTK (Sactown Sports 1140)/Sacramento and is relocating back to the east coast for family reasons. His final show was Friday, June 30.
Cattles broke his own news in a Thursday Twitter post, saying, in part, “The last 18-plus months have been some of the most rewarding and best times I’ve spent in radio. We had tremendous success, from ratings to sales to digital, as a brand and show. Working on Cattles & Ramie is the most fun I’ve had in the business. I loved working with JJ, Simone, Verlod and Ramie. It’s just, we love our family more. Since moving to Cali, we’ve had to overcome a lot personally. Those challenges have been amplified the last two months. It’s no longer tolerable to be 3,000 miles away. Once we settle the home situation (looking to buy?!), we’re heading back.”
Cattles joined KHTK in Nov. 2021 as PD and afternoon personality, crossing the country from Max Media Sports-Talk WVSP (ESPN Radio 94.1)/Norfolk-Virginia Beach, VA. That had been Cattles’ second tour of duty at WVSP, punctuated by two additional stints at Beasley’s WBZ-FM (98.5 The Sports Hub)/Boston.
In February of this year, Cattles relinquished his KHTK PD stripes to format vet Brian Gebhardt, but remained in afternoon drive with Ramie Makhlouf.
In closing, Cattles’ post read, “What’s this mean for my professional future? No idea. I’m a free agent, hopeful that something will come my way. With that said, if you happen to be a media friend that knows of something, feel free to reach out and/or share this message. As they say: My DMs are open. Talk soon. Cheers!”
