Nobody Can Beat Boston
Explaining the instant appeal of The New 97.7, Dylan Sprague, SVP of Programming for the Boston Region, said, “If you grew up listening to [WXKS] Kiss 108 and [WJMN] JAM’N 94.5 in the ’80s and ’90s, this station is for you. With a playlist that is uniquely Boston, The New 97.7 The Beat of Boston is filled with songs that you haven’t heard on the radio in a long time.”
The New 97.7 will be under the command of Chris Tyler, who also programs Classic Rock sibling WZLX. He succeeds Chris Malone, who exited last week. “Programming a station with this much energy and real variety is going to be a blast,” said Tyler. “The New 97.7 The Beat of Boston will make you feel good as we play the biggest hits throughout the decades and I know it will become a Boston favorite.”
A bunch of familiar Boston personalities will be joining the station, including Kiss 108 afternoon driver Romeo handling middays, followed by KJ in afternoon drive. The full lineup will be announced at a later date.
