Norsan Launches Three Orlando Stations

• Back in June we reported that Norsan Media, one of the nation’s top Hispanic-owned media companies, had expanded its Florida footprint from Jacksonville into the Orlando market with the acquisition of 103.1 WFYY, WDYZ 660 AM, translator W288CJ (105.5 FM) from JVC Media, which exited the market after 11 years. WFYY and W288CJ had been the home of JVC’s Hot Talk Florida Man Radio; WFYY-HD2 was Country 103.1 The Wolf, and WDYZ & WFYY-HD3 were carrying ESPN Orlando.

Norsan has now formally unveiled the new formats for its Orlando properties: WFYY is now Tropical Kaliente 103.1, W288CJ is now Spanish CHR Suave 105.5, and WDYZ-AM is now Regional Mexican Poder 660 AM.

Along with this expansion, Norsan Media proudly welcomes new Program Director, Arnulfo Ramirez, who possesses over 30 years of experience in broadcast media, having held senior roles at Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation and iHeartMedia. Most recently, he served as Program and Content Director for TelevisaUnivision’s WXNY (X96.3)/New York. Ramirez remarked, “I’m excited to join Norsan Media and work with such a talented team. My goal is to deliver authentic, exceptional programming that connects with the diverse audiences in Orlando and Jacksonville.”

Natalia Sanchez Alvarez, Norsan CEO, added, “We are confident that under Arnulfo’s direction and Alina Berriz‘s leadership, our Orlando stations will carve out a place in the hearts of the Hispanic community.”
