Now Entering Iowa: Russ Mottla

• Now it can be told! Veteran Rock programmer Russ Mottla has been named PD of NRG Media’s 100,000-watt Active Rock KFMW (Rock 108)/ Waterloo-Cedar Falls, IA. We understand that Mottla joins NRG from his current OM/PD position with Cumulus Media in New London, CT. Mottla’s lengthy programming resume includes such venerable rock stations as WHEB/Portsmouth & WGIR/Manchester, NH, WDRE/Long Island, WIYY (98 Rock)/Baltimore, KTYD/Santa Barbara, CA and the late, great WFNX/Boston. He also served as VP/Programming for Envisage Radio Group in Escondido, CA.

Mottla commented, “Rock 108 is a heritage Midwestern blowtorch, and I’ve been an online fan of the station for a long time. Joining GM Jack Taddeo and the great NRG Media staff at such a heritage, rock and roll beast has me eating roofing nails in anticipation!”
