Nowik Takes On Appleton’s Fox
• Cumulus has appointed Cosette Nowik as Program Director and afternoon talent on Alternative WWWX (96.9 The Fox)/Appleton-Oshkosh, WI. The position has been open since previous PD Robert “Max” Dye left last September for a non-radio gig.
Nowik earns the transfer (and her inaugural PD stripes) from Talk sister WLS-AM 890/Chicago, where she served in the multiple roles of board op, afternoon drive Associate Producer and Podcast Technical Producer. She holds a B.A. in Mass Media from Illinois State University, where she started her radio career at the school’s WXND.
John Rowe, VP/Market Manager, Cumulus Appleton-Oshkosh, said, “Cosette’s energy will light up the airwaves and instantly connect with The Fox listeners and advertisers. We’re excited to see what the future holds with Cosette’s leadership, drive and enthusiasm. We welcome Cosette to The Fox Valley and 96.9 The Fox.”
Jay Philpott, Operations Manager of Cumulus Appleton-Oshkosh, noted, “Cosette represents a talented generation of up-and-coming broadcasters who will help our industry move into the broader world of online, on-speaker and streaming content. She’s got a lot of energy and forward-looking ideas, along with musical and cultural savvy. She’s the right person to bring 96.9 The Fox to new sets of ears and listening devices!”
Nowik commented, “I’m ecstatic to continue growing within the Cumulus family and begin a new chapter in the Appleton-Oshkosh market at 96.9 The Fox. My sincerest gratitude to John Rowe and Jay Philpott for the incredible opportunity, James Kurdziel for encouraging me, and to my Chicago radio family for support and inspiration to continue learning. I look forward to building a home in Oshkosh.”
