NYC Exits: Ebro, Ed Lover, Miss Jones

UPDATED: Major changes are afoot in New York radio, starting with the surprising departure of Ebro In The Morning from MediaCo’s WQHT (Hot 97) after nearly 13 years, its existence excised from Hot 97’s website.

RAMP Update: We should clarify — of the show’s large cast, host Ebro Darden, co-hosts Peter Rosenberg & Laura Stylez and Executive Producer Jason Griffin have exited. We are hearing that the show’s other contributors: Board Op/Associate Producer Shani Kulture, mixer DJ Kast One, and Assoc. Producer/Editor Juanyto remain in place for now, although we understand that Funk Flex will temporarily fill in for one day.

Ebro In The Morning was syndicated by Superadio, which issued this brief statement: “While the distribution of Ebro in the Morning in its current form is ending, Superadio remains fully committed to the Ebro brand. We look forward to continuing to bring Ebro’s voice and talent to the masses across new platforms, which we’ll be sharing more about very soon.” Pictured, above (l-r): Laura Stylez, Ebro, & Rosenberg.

The morning show’s departure is the just latest major shake-up in Hot 97’s on-air lineup: In September, Funkmaster Flex moved from nights to 5-10pm, while 27-year veteran DJ Enuff and MD/VP of Artist & Label Relations TT Torrez exited.

Interestingly, RAMP has also learned that Audacy rival WXBK (94.7 The Block) has parted ways with morning talent Miss Jones and syndicated evening entertainer Ed Lover… too soon to connect the dots??? Probably. Stay tuned.
