O’Brien On The Move, Parker Upped
There’s been a changing of the programming guard at Sinclair Country WUSH (US 106.1)/Norfolk, as PD Brandon O’Brien has tendered his resignation and announced he’s relocating to Nashville, where he will continue to host afternoons on Cafe Nashville. Seconds later, the station announced that midday personality Dave Parker (right) would become the new PD of US106.1. Parker is a 20-year market vet who has been with the station since its launch in 2008. Before that he spent 18 years as a television meteorologist before migrating to talk radio in 2006. Parker can be congratulated at dparker@us1061.com.
O’Brien (left) has also been with WUSH since the beginning. RAMP caught up with O’Brien to ask him about his forthcoming Nashville challenge, and he told us, “I knew this day would eventually come but I didn’t think it would be this soon. The timing and feeling was right for me to turn the page and make Nashville my permanent home. I can’t thank the Sinclair family enough for the opportunity to be a part of such a great company.”
