OM Upgrades @ Entercom Memphis
• Dual promotions are the order of the day at Entercom Memphis, as Chris Michaels is upped to Operations Manager for cluster’s Music Brands — Hot AC WMC-FM (FM100), AC WRVR (104.5 The River) and Country WLFP (94.1 The Wolf), and Brad Carson is now Operations Manager of the Entercom Memphis Sports Brands — WMFS-FM & AM (ESPN 92.9 & 680) and WMC-AM (ESPN 790).
In a stirring staff memo announcing these sweet upgrades, SVP/Market Manager Dan Barron said, “Chris and Brad have each guided their respective stations to all time ratings highs while navigating changing market conditions, competitive attacks, personnel adjustments etc. I’m proud and thankful for Chris, Brad and the team that they get to work with every day. Radio stations are much more complex today than they were a decade ago; social media, streaming, events and technology make for a never-ending set of opportunities and challenges — the job does not end at 5:30pm. I think you will agree with me that we are in a better position with Chris and Brad guiding the brands and this elevation in title is more reflective of their responsibilities and contributions.”
Michaels (left) programmed the late, legendary WABB/Mobile, AL prior to his arrival in Memphis in May 2011 to program WMC-FM. He later added oversight of WRVR and WLFP. Earlier stops include WERO/Greenville-New Bern, NC, WDCG (G105)/Raleigh and WAPE/Jacksonville.
Carson (right) is a 25-year radio vet, the last 15 of those with Entercom Memphis. His previous stops include WKOE & WIXM/Atlantic City, NJ, KMXB & KMZQ/Las Vegas and the mighty WSMI/Litchfield, IL.
